An hour away from Belgrade, Novi Sad, capital of the Vojvodina province and the second largest town in Serbia, is well known for its charm and cultural Austro-Hungarian heritage. The heart of the town, also known as the 'Serbian Athena' is abound in Gothic, Baroque, Art Nouveau and Neo-Classical buildings. Novi Sad holds, in particular, the Medieval Petrovaradin Fortress, also known as the 'Gibraltar of the Danube'.
