The National Museum houses various artistic and archaeological exhibits, from the first traces of human civilisation right up to the mid 20th century. The pre-historic objects displayed here are characterised by Dupljaja's famous little votive chariot depicting a deity pulled by ducks. The countless remains from the Hellenic and Roman ancient history, including gold masks, portraits, bronze vases, and terracotta pieces, certainly make it worth a visit. The museum consists of several sections covering all periods of history, right through to modern and contemporary art.
