The bays The southern part of the island of Mahé is a succession of anses (small bays), each more beautiful than the last. © René Mattes
On Mahé, the south is a succession of anses (small bays) as splendid as one another: Anse Takamaka, Anse Corail, Anse Cachée, Anse Forbans and Anse Parnel. On the west coast, Anse à la Mouche is really impressive. Among the most beautiful beaches, let us mention Anse Intendance with its superb arc where turquoise rollers break on the beach for the swimmers' great pleasure (photo) and Petite Anse which you can get to after a fifteen minute walk. But the effort is definitely worth it as the landscape around it is so unique and special, especially in the evening. It is naturally a true wonder in the setting sun (photo). Towards the North, the sea park of Port Launey, with its large cove of Beau Vallon Bay, offers magnificent landscapes and beaches. On the east coast, opposite Victoria, Saint Anne sea park gathers some superb islands and in particular Ile Ronde, which welcomes Seychellois families who come and have lunch and relax every Sunday.
