Mahé, Praslin and La Digue These are the most frequented and easily accessible islands in the archipelago. Vladimira Dvorakova / age fotostock;
The main islands, all granitic, are Mahé and the surrounding islands (Bird, Dennis, Cerf, Longue, Ronde, Sainte-Anne, Thérèse, Conception and Silhouette), as well as Praslin, located 20 miles north-east from Mahé, and its neighbours (fifteen islands including La Digue, Cousin, Cousine, Curieuse, Félicité, Les Deux Soeurs, Aride, etc). They are the archipelago's busiest islands and those of easier access. These volcanic islands with rugged relief and tropical vegetation are the purpose of many combined holidays for those who enjoy exploring. Hiking, big game fishing and scuba diving are some of the main activities available there.
