If you are passing through Singapore on a Sunday morning, do not miss, for any reason whatsoever, the proverbial bird singing contest in front of the Wah Heng Coffee Shop, at the crossroads between Tiong Bahru Rd and Seng Poh Rd, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Visit the mosque of the Sultan (North Bridge Road, close to Arab Street), a superb monument dating back to the dawn of the century. Pay a visit to the Chinese and Japanese gardens along the Jurong lake (along Yan Ching Rd). Attend mass in the Armenian church of St Gregory and be invited to the parish tea following the celebration.
