Although you can find good deals in Chinatown (People's Park Complex and People's Park Centre) and in the colonial neighbourhood (Raffles City, Marina Square, Sim Lim Square), it is at Orchard Road that people go to shop. Formerly, it was there that the wealthy colonizers built their lovely homes that are today occupied by the upper class of the rich city. With its hotels, bars, restaurants, discothèques and shops, Orchard comes across as the showcase of Singapore's modern dynamism, and thus as the best place to do good business.
