Slovenia has three types of climate: temperate, alpine and continental, except in the coastal region which boasts a Mediterranean climate. The best season is from May to September although rainfall is higher in May and June. The coastal areas benefit from the most sun. Depending where you are, average temperatures vary, however summer sees temperatures go above 20°C in general, while winter sees temperatures drop to below 0°C.
