The Julian Alps Triglav National Park, Slovenia This park is home to the highest massif in Slovenia. Ralph Braumer / age fotostock;

The Julian Alps are a network of lush forests and beautiful lakes. Triglav National Park is named after the highest mountain in Slovenia (2,864m) and is popular with skiiers, hikers and mountaineers. There are many marked trails. Meanwhile, the charming village of Bled is like a postcard - picture perfect with with its clifftop medieval castle and church on an island right in the middle of the lake.
