The best season to visit Somalia is in summer (June-September), when the monsoon wind freshens the Southern regions. Days are less hot and nights pleasurable. The rest of the year, the climate is hot and humid with two rainy seasons: Gu (March-May) and Dayr (September-December). January and February (Jilal) are very dry and scorching hot.
Temperatures in Muqdisho are temperate with the sea breeze: 23 to 31 °C inJanuary and 22 to 27 °C in July. The climate in the North (Berbera) is less temperate. Temperatures in January very between 21 and 28 °C and between 32 and 42 °C in July.
