The region of the Kruger National Park benefits from a sub-tropical climate, meaning that it is dry and sunny in winter (the seasons alternate in reverse order). The temperatures vary between 25°C in winter (July and August) with cool breeze during nights (9°C) and 34°C in the summer (from December to February). From October to April, rain showers, sometimes quite violent, occur frequently in the afternoons and are often accompanied with thunder and lightning. The best time to go is in autumn (March and April) and spring (September, December). The best safari season is the winter (summer in UK) when the less thick greenery allows a better opportunity to see the country's wildlife.
