The Northern Cape is a vast and fascinating region where a variety of points of interest and activities are available. You can find cave paintings, diamond fields, numerous flower meadows and impressive waterfalls. The local bush is inhabited by many species of birds and mammals. For instance, you can see the black and white rhinoceroses, antelopes and gemsboks. Parks and natural reserves cover the majority of this region: Vaalbos National Park (at Barkly West), Richtersveld National Park (at Springbok, (on the border with Namibia), Spitskop Nature Reserve (at Upington) and also Witsand Nature Reserve (at Postmasburg).
