The San people

The San people The San tribe The San people are nomadic. Vladimira Dvorakova / age fotostock;

Originally, The San people were the only people to occupy the south of the country, as can been seen on cave paintings around the area. These nomadic tribes are not very large in number and are normally isolated in small groups. Some of them live on hunting and fruit picking in the desert of Kalahari, living by the same lifestyle as their prehistoric ancestors. They rarely come into contact with the rest of the world, although they do sell their works of art on the marketplace in the city of Kimberley. Situated in the province of the KwaZulu-Natal, the reserves with their cave paintings are some of the most interesting attractions to be seen.
