In the eastern part of the country, a visit to the Kwazulu-Natal - the territory of the Zulus - will reveal the difficult past of this formidable warrior tribe, who stupefied and terrified the armies of Boers and British colonisers. A trek within the "Zulu triangle", in the regions of Eshowe, Vryheid and Ladysmith will take you to the "route of battles" and on the numerous traces of the conflicts between Boers and Zulus and British-Boer wars. The Zulus are very important in South Africa, with a population of 8 million people. A lot of museums are dedicated to the Zulu history and its cultural heritage such as KwaZula Cultural Museum near Ulundi and Talana Museum in Dundee.
