In Andalusia, the wine route passes through the towns of Jerez de la Frontera, El Puerto de Santa María and Sanlúcar de Barrameda. This forms a triangular area that shelters the wine fields where Sherry is produced (this wine has a Controlled Designation of Origin). The Spanish call it Jerez and the two best-known varieties are fino and manzanilla.
