The Cantabrian coast is a mixture of vast areas of rocky cliffs, where the sea beats against the impressive rockface, and of places where swimming is permitted, and water sports and other activities are available. The shoreline mainly consists of white sand, protected from the heavy swell of the Cantabrian Sea by geographical formations along the coast and impressive cliffs.
