This small island is home to some superb beaches. Amongst the most beautiful are La Sabina, with its dunes on the edge of the Estany Pudent Lake, the Cala Sahona, surrounded by red rocks, and Mitjorn, the largest beach. To the east, Llevant beach is good for surfing, but the beach on which Formentera bases its reputation is Illetas, in the north-west of the island; its crystal clear waters are so incredible, you could be forgiven for believing you were in a lagoon in Polynesia!
