Climate Spain, The Canary Islands

The Canary Islands possess a relatively stable, warm climate all year round, with an average yearly water temperature of 20°C. Here you can even swim in the middle of winter! During this season, temperatures rarely fall below 18°C, with the average yearly temperature being at around 22°C, with roughly 3,000 hours of sunlight per year. This sunny climate is tempered by the trade winds, but rarely by the rain (the average rainfall is 19mm per month).
During the summer it rarely rains, yet the most pleasant times to visit the Canary Islands are during spring and autumn. In Tenerife, the southern coast is sunny most of the year, whereas the northern coast is much more humid. In general the coastline remains sunny and the clouds gather on the Teide hillside, but even though the summit is covered in snow most of the year, it is often above the clouds.
