Lanzarote - Arrecife Lanzarote - ArrecifeSanta Ana Cathedral is a combination of Gothic and Renaissance influences Martin Siepmann/ age fotostock

Numerous small villages, each with their own charm, are found all over the archipelago. Some have preserved their colonial history and others, more modern, offer bars, restaurants, casinos and all sorts of excursions for tourists. A great number of buildings from the colonial period have resisted tourism; churches, cathedrals, aristocratic residences and palaces, which are all popular with visitors. Don't hesitate to take a walk around the fishing ports and colourful markets.
