Northern Ibiza is a display of wild and dry landscapes that contrast with the modernity of the seaside resorts. There are olive and almond tree groves, vineyards and pine forests, each one more beautiful than the next. Time seems to have stopped in the tiny villages dotted across the island, but it's also this part of the island that is perfect for hikes and walks. The old fortified hamlet of Balafi, found along the Els Amunts mountain range, is worth the detour.
