Lorient

On Saint Barthelemy's north coast, you should linger in the small village of Lorient, if only for the cemetery with its white tombs decorated with artificial flowers. You will notice its little church, Our Lady of Assumption, and its original framework.
Lorient gets its name from the first settlers, that is, French people from Lorient in Brittany who started to settle on the island in the mid-17th century.
Every year, the small village hosts the Caribbean Film Festival for five days in April, during which the competing films are projected in open-air cinemas.
Anse Lorient, which is somewhat windier, is enjoyed more by surfers than by swimmers
