In the north you will find a desert climate, with sandstorms and significant differences in the daily temperatures. Central Sudan, between Khartum and the province of Bahr al-Ghazal, has a tropical continental climate with a little rain feeding the vegetation (161 mm of rainfall in Khartum per year). The average temperature in this area during the wet season, from June to October, varies between 30°C and 35°C. From November to May, the average temperature hovers around 20-25°C. In the south, the lush vegetation is characteristic of the equatorial climate: heavy rains, humid winds in the south, and rather constant annual temperatures.
