Built on the slopes of four hills, Lausanne expanded rapidly at the dawn of the century, giving birth to an architecture that is still not exemplary. However, it is a very pleasant city, rich and bustling with cultural attractions (cinemas, theatres, galleries, concerts, ballets, and shows galore...). Nightlife is lively, especially in the trendy districts of the Flon, Saint-Pierre and the Tunnel square. In summer, tourists prefer to sit on the street side cafés at Ouchy on the shores of the lake. A visit to the city will inevitably lead you to Saint-François square, Palud square, the Gothic cathedral, the Chateau square, Beau-Rivage Palace and the port of Ouchy. The vintage art museum of Lausanne is really worth a stopover, as well as the the Elysée museum, dedicated to photography, not forgetting the Olympic museum.
