Hama

Hama

Hama Hama, Syria The city dates back to the Hittite era; in the foreground, on the Oronte river, are the norias of the Seleucid period which fed the aqueduct. P.de Franqueville

A small town of Oronta, Hama has kept some of its charm with its old American vehicles, used as taxis or personal cars. The huge number of its norias create a particular atmosphere on the city. However, due to the numerous bombings, old homes and palaces have been damaged forever. Those spared are being restored gradually and being transformed into hotels or restaurants.
