The central plain is mostly covered in rice fields and canals weaving in and out of magnificient landscape: orchards, old teak houses and floating markets, including that of Damnoen Saduak. If you go to the central plain, you'll most likely be taken with discovering Thailand's historical heritage rather than its interior landscape which can get rather monotonous. The region has a great number of monuments and ruins portraying the once grand and splendid kingdoms of Khmer and Siam.
