Volunter Point, north of Stanley, is a true animal sanctuary: you can watch the biggest colony of king penguins, rockhopper penguins, Magellanic penguins and Gentoo penguins (also called punks with their orange crest topping the skull!). Seals and big sea elephants, with their harems of females, lazing about. The site deserves a few days (contact George Smith, the site owner at 31 398).
