The climate is oceanic and, influenced by the ocean, it tends to be cool and damp. The average yearly precipitation is 30 inches and average temperatures range from between 4°C in January to 22°C in July and August. The weather is often cloudy, particularly in the spring and autumn, and, since there are no natural barriers, the whole country suffers from rough winds which are often the cause of sudden climate changes.
