Choose your cruise and set sail from the UK
All aboard! Traditionally associated with vacationers of 'a certain age,' the cruise holiday has seen a surge in popularity with a recent boom in bookings. Major tour operators such as Thomas Cook and Thomson offer a range of cruises, with the latter even bringing back 15 ex-UK itineraries this summer. So what's all the fuss about, why is the cruise the holiday of choice for many? Many people see it as a top opportunity to see or 'cover' a variety of destinations in a short space of time. Families find them handy for the varied entertainment options and on-shore activities and of course the ease of all inclusive food and drink. For others it's the fact that there's no wasting time on inter-city travel; no check-in queues, no waiting around, plus there's on board fun when travelling from port to port. And don't even get us started on the volcano issue - as far as we know ash clouds don't affect ship engines... Whatever its reputation, no one can deny the cruise holiday's value for money so if you're tempted to sail away this summer, check out our suggestions!
