The Victoria Falls, situated in the national park of the same name, lie between Zambia and Zimbabwe. Although neither the highest nor widest in the world, it does boast the largest sheet of falling water in the world, plunging 108m down in to the Zambezi River. Victoria Falls is one of the seven natural wonders of the world, and the first European to discover them was Dr. David Livingstone, who after having seen them wrote in his diary "On sights as beautiful as this, Angels in their flight must have gazed," and subsequently named them after his Queen. What better way to spend Valentine's with that someone special in your life than by taking what has become known as the 'Flight of the Angels'. Within the rainforest one can catch a glimpse of numerous birds, butterflies and other small animals, in addition to rich and diverse flora. Accommodation options in the town of Victoria Falls are varied, and if you stay overnight in the national park you will be lodged at campsites.
