This small boutique hotel really has all a holidaymaker could ask for: top-quality service, spacious rooms, divine local wine and high-end cuisine. Undoubtedly, what makes a stay at Villa Vik (read the full review here) so memorable is the hospitable and personable staff. In addition, the hotel's size at just 14 rooms gives the impression of being a large family house and ensures charm and intimacy. These characteristics come as a welcome alternative to the hectic, overflowing and impersonal resorts that dominate the Canary Islands.
The rooms are divided into two tiers: standard double rooms and the higher-class two suites. We recommend the 25020 suite, which has a magnificent terrace that looks out over the gardens and the alluring hot tub. In keeping with the quaint aura of the place, the dťcor in the rooms is tastefully coordinated including marble floors in the bathrooms. Being a top-end hotel, all of the rooms are highly spacious with a balcony and are equipped with a flat screen television, a mini bar, a safe and Sutton and Foster bathroom essentials such as bath robes and slippers. There is also cable internet in all of the rooms, as well as free wifi in the lobby.
The only potential downfall is that the hotel is located in an affluent residential area that is quiet and somewhat lacking in entertainment. That said, those seeking entertainment and culture can find it in Lanzerote's capital Arrecife, which is not far away. Furthermore, visitors can soak up the sun and wine and dine without leaving the hotel at all: true luxury and indulgence! The hotel offers a pool and gardens scattered with plants and palm trees. The hotel's British chef will rustle up the best quality breakfast, lunch and dinner. However, it is worth informing hotel staff as to when you wish to eat as the chef is not always present.
