The female traveller: 10 no risk destinations

Not far from the UK lays a wonderful mid-haul destination that is being sold very cheaply at the moment on the market; especially Agadir (seaside resorts) and Marrakesh. With its deserts, mountains, beaches, sand dunes, Morocco is one of the most varied countries in Africa. Culturally diverse, there is a lot to see and do in Marrakesh, Fez, Tangier or Tétouan, all charming visitors with their authenticity. There are also lots of opportunities to have a little time off for pampering in a Turkish bath for example. Being a Muslim country, for a woman travelling alone, there is no danger. Obviously there is no danger for those who dress accordingly and respectfully ? forget all short skirts and tiny tops and pack some light-weight long-sleeved tops or long skirts and trousers are strongly recommended. Respect the rules and you will be respected and left alone. At the beach a one-piece swimming-costume is preferable to a bikini, and sunbathing naked or topless is definitely OUT. Moroccans are generally very hospitable, warm and friendly but keep a little distance. Avoid speaking about religion, gender roles and do not criticise the Moroccan royal family.
