Not all theme parks mean being thrown around at practically a million miles an hour strapped into a seat with no chance of escape - they can involve crocodiles instead! Crocworld offers you not only the chance to come face to face with these fascinating reptiles, but also the chance to see other exciting creatures such as monkeys, mongeese and snakes. Situated close to Durban on South Africa's east coast, the park is surrounded by forest, wetlands and the Amaholgwa River. As the name suggests, the park's biggest trump card is the crocodile, in fact 10,000 of them, including Henry, claimed to be the heaviest, oldest one in captivity! It is estimated that Henry was born at the turn of the century and has done and seen some amazing things in his life time. Another local celebrity is Isis, a fish eagle who welcomes all visitors by flying around her enormous cage. You can look on as rangers feed hungry crocs, admire the greenery with a stroll through the park or take a guided tour with an expert ranger who can tell you everything you want to know about crocodiles. Don't forget to check out George of the Jungle, a treetop house from which you can observe the animal life and enjoy a breathtaking panorama of the Indian Ocean. In addition, Crocworld boasts a snake tunnel, an aquarium and a wetland housing both birds and reptiles.
