From the Louvre to the Eiffel Tower, from the Place de la Concorde to the Grand and Petit Palais, the evolution of Paris and its history can be seen from the River Seine. Although you won't have any trouble seeing why Paris holds such a special place in the hearts of some of the world's most high-profile cultural intellectuals past and present, Paris also has a raw edge of graffiti, street-art and squat-culture, which gives it the accessible cultural energy with which it makes up for in its quiet nightlife. In the evenings, most people tend to go out for a couple of glasses of wine at their local bar or restaurant, but if the club scene is what you're after, then try the Batofar and the Rex, which are Paris' two main clubbing venues - electronic music is still all the rave, so don't expect too much variety if you're up for a bit of a boogie!
