Travellers planning to book flights with Cathay Pacific this weekend will have to wait until Monday as the airline's booking facility shuts down.
The Chinese airline's reservations system will be undergoing a much-needed upgrade. Travellers will not be able to book a flight with Cathay over the weekend of 11-12 February.
During the transition, the airline needs to temporarily suspend bookings on the global distribution systems, its website, and its mobile sites. Travel agents will be able to put new reservations on request, but those bookings will not be confirmed until the system resumes service. Online check in and self-service kiosks at airports will also be unavailable throughout much of the weekend, but Cathay's flight schedule will be unaffected.
