Later on this week, easyJet staff is threatening a walk-out while easyJet pilots are planning to strike in France. If strike action does go ahead, flights will be severaly disrupted with regards to the low-cost airline's schedule. All passengers due to travel to or from Faro in Portugal's Algarve region and Oporto on the 15 and 17 August and those planning an outbound or inbound journey from France between 15-19 August are strongly advised to check the status of their flight before leaving for the airport.
Despite the warnings of disruption, easyJet was hopeful that disruption to flights to and from France will be minimal. A spokesperson for the airline said that any disruption in Portugal will be limited and that the French strikes would only impact French-based crews, so not all flights would be affected, "The industrial action will only affect French based crews, thus not all flights to and from France will be affected,". Discussions are continuing between EasyJet and representatives from SNPL [the French pilot union] to reach an agreement. EasyJet said that f an agreement is not reached, updates will be published on its website.
