Newly released research from Moneycorp has named Europe as the best value destination for skiing holidays this winter.
Travelbite reported that the average price of skiers' essential items has dropped by 5.7 per cent in comparison to last winter.
Amongst the best value destinations are resorts in France and Austria, as well as Switzerland, which will see a 14.7 per cent drop in the cost of essentials compared to last year.
For the best value, Bulgaria has been named top of the class, with the average price of ski gear coming to £248.70.
Head of marketing for Travel Money at Moneycorp, Tracy Tivnan, confirmed that the weakening euro and the economic crisis are both important factors in this price drop.
"Resorts have also had to reduce prices across the board to attract custom at a time when families are feeling the financial pinch," she said.
Coming in at worst value for this ski season however, were Canada and the US as they experience an average rise of 4.7 per cent on ski essentials.
