Eurostar has announced a limited offer of 20,000 extra seats costing just £69 return for travel between 24 and 31 August. Passengers have until Sunday 8 July to book before prices return to the usual rates.
The £69 return tickets are available for routes from London to Paris, Lille and Brussels, but only apply to mid-week journeys. This limitation means those hoping for a fleeting weekend break will not be able to benefit and holiday-makers must be available for weekday travel.
Eurostar's luxurious high-speed service takes just one hour forty minutes from London to Lille, two and a half hours to Paris and two hours ten minutes to Brussels. Reaching speeds of 300kph and carrying up to 750 passengers each journey, Eurostar is highly efficient and since its launch has hooked travellers onto the notion of crossing the channel by train instead of plane. Passengers benefit from only having to check in from 30 minutes to one hour prior to train departure, compared to airports' usual two hours. Equally Eurostar users enjoy relaxed baggage weight limits and do not risk having their suitcase lost in transit.
