The Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) recently released its latest travel advice to Russia following the spate of wildfires and smog overtaking parts of the country.
It advises those with fragile health to consult their doctors before travelling to Moscow as well as those regions affected by the forest fire pollution.
The FCO website states "If you have a pre-existing health issue, are pregnant, elderly or are travelling with children, you may wish to consult your own doctor before travelling."
The Russian capital and significant parts of western Russia are seeing exceptionally high temperatures and air pollution from large peat and forest fires.
Besides Moscow, the regions that have been worst hit are Nizhny Novgorod, Mordovia, Tatarstan, Voronezh, Ryazan, Vladimir and Ivanovo.
The FCO also warns of possible flight disruption to and from Moscow airports due to poor visibility.
Anybody heading to or leaving Moscow should check with their airline before travelling as these flight delays may continue for some time.
