The low fares airline Monarch is to increase services to Spain and its islands this winter with the addition of some routes and the upping of the number of flights per week to existing destinations. A thrice-weekly service to Palma de Majorca from both Gatwick and Manchester sees the island's capital served the whole year round with one-way fares starting from £38.99 including taxes and charges.
Other destinations which will enjoy increased frequency include Alicante, which will be served on a more regular basis from Gatwick Birmingham and Manchester airports, while Malaga, Menorca, Gibraltar and Gran Canaria will each see their number of weekly flights from the UK rise.
Tim Jeans, managing director of Monarch Airlines commented: "The additional flying across the Monarch network over the winter months is reflective of the booking strength we are already seeing for flights to core destinations such as Alicante and Malaga. Our winter flying programme has been on sale since January 2010 and demand for flights to our Spanish destnations has continued to grow since then."
