Tunisia is an ideal holiday destination due to its favourable climate year round. Winters are mild and even cool along the coastline (11°C in Tunis and 12°C in Djerba in January). However, summer in the south and inland is scorching hot, making these areas very uncomfortable (the temperature can easily rise to 40°C). The best time to visit Tunisia is in the spring as of mid-April (when it is 16°C in Tunis and 18°C in Djerba) and in autumn as of September (when it is 21°C in Tunis and 24°C in Djerba). The temperature of the water varies between 10°C and 15°C in winter and can reach 23°C in summer.
