In the east of the country, the site of Nemrut Dagi is a long climb, with an altitude of over 6,562 ft. This succession of monumental statues watching eternally over the mausoleum of Antioch I is definitely worth a stop over, as the heads of the gods dating back to the 2nd Century seem so supernatural.
