Pochayiv, located 186 miles to the west of Kiev, is home to the Ukraine's second largest monestary, a popular site for pilgramage during religious festivals. The main monument, Uspensky Cathedral, is a beautiful baroque building housing a fantastic collection of frescoes and orthodox icons. Smaller, the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity is veiled in a somber and mysterious atmosphere.
