The Caithness and Sutherland peninsula is the most northern county of Scotland. From Inverness, head in the direction of Dornoch and Wick, up to John O'Groats, Scotland's most northern point. The road follows the cut-up rocky coast and some views are absolutely superb. On the western side of the peninsula, you must see the Isle of Skye that is home to the castle of Dunvegan, and a famous whisky distillery in Talisker.
