Overview

England

England, along with Northern Island, Scotland and Wales, is part of the United Kingdom. Although part of Europe, it does not have the euro as its currency, but the Great British Pound Sterling and isn't a part of the Schengen zone.

A low-lying terrain comprising of small hills, wide open plains in central and south England, that is slightly raised towards the north (Lake District and Yorkshire Dales, for example) as well as in the south west, England actually includes over 100 islands including the Isle of Wight in the south and the Isles of Scilly.

The most visited city in the country is London, the capital. However, London wasn't always the capital; up until 1066, Winchester was the country's capital. Today London is the largest city in the United Kingdom and the most built-up area within the European Union.
