Overview

England

What better than to go and experience the sales in London? From 26 December for winter sales; start of July for summer sales. Given the rebates, the trip pays for itself easily. But England is not limited to London. From the Gardens of Kent to the Land of Poets in the Lake District, from Cornwall to the Isle of Wight, form Brighton to Blackpool, you take a leisurely stroll through the centuries and through the landscapes. By lodging preferably in Bed and Breakfasts (beans for breakfast) and placing the elbow on pub counters to live like the English.

pros

  •  England has a very rich historical heritage and very diverse natural sites.

cons

  •  The climate is not favourable.
  •  The cost of living is high, especially in London.

Our Editorial team's advice

The Isle of Wight is an unknown site off the South coast. Accessible by ferry from Portmouth and Southampton, the Isle possesses several historical monuments including Osborne House (a previous seaside residence of Queen Victoria) and the Carisbrooke Castle (a fortress of the XIth century). But the best thing on your visit here is its large diversity of shores: beaches alternate with impressive cliffs along the Alum Bay. It is on the west shore, close to Needles rocks, that you will find the best views.
