There are several walks to enjoy along the banks of the Thames. One begins at the Tower of London (Tower Hill tube station) and takes you towards the old docklands area of Canary Wharf, which has since become a residential and business district, full of skyscrapers, marinas, terraces and flowerbeds. Once through this area, the Thames' banks become green once more as you approach Greenwich, the little town of time-zone fame. Just cross the tunnel under the river and you are there, slap bang on the Meridian!
