The Midland Canals, England The English Midlands is the traditional name for the area comprising central England that broadly corresponds to the early medieval Kingdom of Mercia ImageSource/ Age Fotostock
The Midlands need to be visited for their network of canals extending between Worcester, Nottingham and Chester. See the Bearley aqueduct in the north of Stratford-upon-Avon, through which the canal spans over road and railway, and the Farmers Bridge of Birmingham. The latter, in the heart of the city, has a series of impressive locks. Several residences, bordered by very beautiful gardens are also good sights to see in the Midlands. Between Warwick and Cheltenham, you will discover particularly the Warwick Castle, surrounded by lawns covered by oak trees; the Anne Hathaways Cottage, whose park is a reproduction of a XVIth century garden, and the Snowhill Manor found in the heart of blossoming enclosed gardens.
