  • Sea lions, penguins, and rhea

Wild animals are quite rare in Uruguay. The rhea, a bird that looks like an ostrich, can often be seen. Towards the Cabo Polonio, the castillo and Wolf islands welcome sea lions, penguin colonies and seals, as well as catfish.
