86 miles from the capital, Punta des Este is a large resort and one of the favourite locations for the Buenos Aires jetsetters who come to spend the weekend. The main street, Gorlero Avenue, offers early century beautiful façades and harks back to Punta del Este's European heritage through its golf course and two casinos. The Brava and Mansa beaches are the best places to spend some lazy afternoons. Further to the north, the coastline is wild.
