In Uzbekistan, the climate is continental, characterized by dry weather, hot summers and very cold winters. The temperature differences between day and night, and between desert and mountain are very high. From June to September, it hardly ever rains. In summer, the average temperatures remain around 25°C, with a peak in July, near Termez over 30°C, and drops in winter around
- 10°C, depending on the region, with temperatures falling as low as - 35°C, on Ustyurt plateau. Northernmost in the country, winter goes on for 5 months. Prefer a holiday in autumn or else in spring, two periods in the year during which the plains are at their prettiest. As for the mountains, May to August are the most appropriate months for hiking and rock-climbing.
