Also called " Annam cordillera," it stretches West towards the central section of the country, from the Thanh Hoa province to the mountainous region of Quang Nam-Da Nang. Located here are the magnificent Phong Nha grottos (Quang Binh), at the heart of the Unesco recognised park, as well as the better known passes such as the Ngang pass (transverse pass), Hai Van pass (Cloudy pass) Don't miss a trip to the famous Ho Chi Minh trail, where you'll find rare species of animal and plant. A long term ecological protection program has been implemented here, largely by the WWF.
