Wallis is bordered by a lagoon surrounded by a coral reef and therefore boasts a considerable amount of marine life (coral and tropical fish). The island's fauna is much more limited; there is only one common species of lizard. As for flora, this is essentially made up of palm trees and breadfruit trees, both on Wallis and Futuna.
